How can I transfer my medical files to Mediplus Clinic?• New patients may need to have medical files transferred from their previous physician’s office. The patient must authorize the release of any medical files with the signing of a consent form.
• This is an uninsured service, and a fee may apply
How do I get my prescription renewed?• Contact your pharmacy. Your pharmacist may be able to fill the prescription or fax the physician to get an electronic prescription refill. Please note, if you have not had an appointment with your physician in an appropriate period of time, your prescription may not be refilled over the phone.
• Make an appointment with your physician or come to Walk-In.
How does the Walk-In Clinic work?• Our Walk-In services are available during regular office hours.
• Appointments are taken in Phone only on a first-come, first-served basis.(On Phone OR in Person)
• Patients will be accommodated until daily capacity is reached.
• Clinic doors open at 9:00AM.
• Availability and estimated wait times cannot be guaranteed.
What happens if I miss an appointment or am late for an appointment?• If you miss an appointment and do not call to cancel, a note will be made in your chart that you were a “No Show”. A fee may apply, and/or you may not be able to book with that provider again until the No Show fee is paid.

• If you are late for your appointment, it is at the discretion of the provider if there is time availability for you to still be seen. Otherwise, you may have to reschedule.
I called this morning and left several messages to book an appointment. Why hasn’t anyone called me back yet?• Our Medical Office Assistants may receive hundreds of telephone messages each day and try to reply to them as quickly as they can within their busy schedule. Please allow 24-48 hours to receive a call back.
Do I need a referral to see a specialist?• Yes. Contact your Family Doctor to arrange a referral.
Are all appointments covered by Alberta Health Care? What are uninsured services?• There are a number of services that are not covered by Alberta Health Care, which may require you to pay a fee. Payment will be expected when you receive the service. We accept cash, debit or credit cards. We do not accept e-transfers or cheques.
Can I drop off forms for my physician to complete?
• Yes, but signed consent is required. Once the form is completed, you will be contacted by phone with the fee amount and that it is ready for pickup. Forms are not released without payment in full. Form fees are not be covered by your Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan.
Where can I go to apply for or update my Alberta Health Care card?
• Visit http://www.health.alberta.ca/AHCIP/registration-locations.html.
• Albertans can register for the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP) and update their information at authorized registry agent offices across the province at no cost (free).
